Optimum legibility is key when diving and may even be lifesaving. It is also Bell & Ross’ main philosophy and one of its guiding principles. To that extent, the BR 03-92 DIVER FULL LUM perfectly fulfill this essential requirement. Playing with inverted contrasts, Bell & Ross adapts its Lum concept to its diving collection and reverses the traditional principles of day and night legibility. While its metal basis dial is fully coated with a paint made of green Superluminova® C5 pigments, the metal applique skeletonized indices and the bezel’s numerals are filled with green Superluminova® C3. This ultra-phosphorescent green light has a very long durability in the dark, offering a continued optimal reading of time even in complete darkness. Thanks to this most resistant, intense, and innovative variant, the time indications – that must be readable at 25 cm in the dark - create a green on green contrast on the dial. If night diving or when reaching abyssal depth, its subtle shades turn into an explosion of light. The luminescent dial illuminates like a punch of light.

The matte black ceramic is perfectly in tune with the aeronautical codes so crucial to the Bell & Ross philosophy. In the world of aeronautics, and especially space, ceramic is predominantly used in manufacturing parts that are subjected to very high temperatures, acid attacks, corrosion and erosion. As a result, it is found in products such as thermal shields and aerospace rocket’s noses. As part of its on-going quest for excellence, Bell & Ross has reworked the high-tech ceramic and developed a special manufacturing process in its workshops. It enhances the intrinsic qualities of this material, which is virtually scratch-proof, pleasant to wear, soft to the touch and thermo-regulated, instantly reaching body temperature when worn. Almost as tough as a diamond, the high-tech ceramic developed by Bell & Ross is incredibly hardwearing, non-deformable, lighter than steel and hypoallergenic.

Br 03-92 Diver Blue

Symbolizing the sea, blue was chosen as the color of the BR03-92 Diver Blue. Beyond its blue dial, rubber strap and aluminum insert on the bezel, this BR03-92 Diver Blue new version aims to achieve maximum legibility with indices coated in White SuperLuminova® and a yellow hour hand. Underwater, the colors vanish one after the other due to the loss of light intensity. The yellow hour hand will therefore fade away to give precedence to the minute hand, which must be visible to ensure the diver’s safety. This color combination, paired with the emblematic square shape of the BR collections, gives the BR03-92 Diver Blue a sporty yet attractive aesthetic.

Br 03-92 Diver Blue Bronze

With this new addition to the Diver collection, Bell & Ross pursues its aspiration by evoking the historical roots of underwater exploration. This nod to the origins of these adventures can be seen on the case-back, which bears the engraving of a 1940s diver. Its case and bezel are made from bronze, a material that is deeply linked to diving history, that was used in the past for deep-sea helmets and naval construction, in fitting parts and propellers. Although inalterable, bronze forms a patina over time depending on its environment and gaining a unique shade over the years. As time passes, the metal provides its wearer with beautiful tones of reddish brown or greyish green, giving it a robust and distinctive touch, and making it unique. Bronze is the first alloy developed by mankind around 7,000 years ago. The specific alloy used for this new 42 mm timepiece is a satin-polished CuSn8, made of 92% copper and 8% tin.
